God Will Move Mountains … We arrived at a village that would be considered out there; no cell service, nor electric and treacherous roads to get there. During rainy season the village would be impossible to reach. Our project was to help an extremely poor handicap family live life a little easier. A family of 5 children originally; three survived but with severe disabilities. Christ himself was front and center for this experience and he showed up in a way that only He could.

Bringing the Light … We arrived to curious and uncertain eyes. The villagers had never seen a foreigner before. This was something the people, nor we had ever experienced. Boonrawt, (our connection to the village) explained that this village has been completely untouched. The people were cautious and distant. But the Lord began to move! Friendship was offered through clothing donations, which brought smiles and laughter to people who had little. We began sharing why we were there; the people were hesitant but joyful for the family who would receive a new home. Boonrawt has worked faithfully to establish connections into this village. He is our lead evangelist in this region. He spends many a day in the jungle servicing and providing aid to this village which is prominently Buddhist. What a man of God.

The Enemy Tried to Steal the Show … Building God’s Kingdom, there is always a way that theenemy tries to steal, kill or destroy. As we began building this project, we had a surprising encounter with Buddhist monks. Curiously, they came to give donations of their own. Perplexed, we asked some of the village men what they were doing. The men were confused as well. They said, it was very odd to have monks come and give donations to them. Usually, it is the people who donate to the monks. They must have heard of the foreigner’s giving aide and spreading messages.

These monks were determined to illuminate themselves to the villagers, but there was a darkness felt in their presence. Through faith we pressed on. Together we built a home that stood near the entrance to the village. A home of solid rock, amongst straw huts. God’s glory was going to shine no matter what.

“Anyone who listens to my teaching and follows it is wise, like a person who builds a house on solid rock. Though the rain comes in torrents and the floodwaters rise and the winds beat against that house, it won’t collapse because it is built on bedrock.” Matthew 7:24-27

God Answered Their Prayers … The mother and recipient of the home had previously contemplated taking her own life. All of her children were handicapped, and she saw no God or hope in what life had given her. She prayed and prayed for of miracle of some kind. Touched with compassion, she said her eyes opened and she began seeing what God was doing through all the hardship. The man pictured, is the father; he had so much joy. He continued smiling while attempting to help our team build his house. He was the leader of his family, and he had so much joy being able to provide for his family. The Lord truly restored this family.

This report was written by Jason and Shayla Milbrodt. Jason and Shayla live in Thailandwith their four daughters…our granddaughters. This trip was an amazing opportunity that we had planned for many months, waiting for the roads to be passable to get there.
