The rural villages of Thailand are transitioning very quickly to a modern way of life. This development has spread through most communities, but there are still hundreds of villages where not a single toilet exists, or a polluted water source is all they have. Kiew Kamin was one of those villages. The project was prompted when one of our field reps reported that two villagers died of intestinal parasites.
Further investigation led us to realize there were no toilets and thus extremely poor hygiene for the villagers. Toilets were constructed for the 24 households and the water supply system was repaired. The quality of living has increased dramatically at Kiew Kamin Village because of these remarkably simple projects being completed. It’s amazing what can happen when we join hands to work together.
