We are making wonderful progress on the dormitory projects at the Youth Camp property. Dormitory #1 is 80% finished and we have broken ground on Dormitory #2. Our goal is to get Dorm #2 started so we can get a roof on before the rain sets in. After that, the work can proceed unhindered regardless of the weather conditions.
The Challenge… $60,000 is still needed to wrap up the two dorm projects. Once completed, we are ready to move the kids in.
The Opportunity… One of our partners has graciously stepped up and offered to match up to $30,000 for gifts designated for the dormitory project. Your gift will automatically double for this project. The 60K challenge just got cut in half!
An Urgent Situation … We were notified a few days ago that the electric meter at our Ban Den Children’s Home can no longer carry the load we require. It’s a 30-amp household meter on a single-phase electric system serving 60 people at this facility. The Electric Company has advised we need to upgrade to a 3-phase, high voltage commercial electric meter. All our other facilities have been upgraded; Ban Den is the only facility not yet upgraded. Upgrading is not an option…we had to sign papers to get the work moving.
Thankfully our poles are adequate. They just need to bring the 22,000 volt 3-phase wires 1500’ to our property and install a 50 KVA stepdown transformer. Once installed…no more brown outs, flipped switches or burnt fuses. Total cost is $18,000.

An Exhilarating Experience … Ban Den Children’s Home is located 4000’ above sea level. Makes for beautiful weather in the hot season, but rather chilly in the winter. Nights can dip to 30-40 degrees Fahrenheit. The water is not heated so bathing is quite an experience. When the new electric system gets installed, we will be able to get these kids some warm water for showers!
We appreciate your part in this ministry. Together we can get the job done!God Bless You Richly…
