Child sponsorship is a joint effort to help a child have a chance in life. We are located in the northern region of Thailand where poverty, drugs and prostitution are rampant. Your sponsorship helps us to res¬cue a child and give them an opportunity to grow up in a safe, constructive environment.

The financial commitment is US$40.00 per month. This can be given monthly or annually. There is no contract involved, you may cancel your sponsorship at any time by simply contacting us.

100% of your gift is used for the child’s support. We raise the administrative cost through our general budget. Our children’s homes are run with excellence. All of our homes are full care facilities.

We welcome you to write letters to your child. The children love to hear from their sponsors and pictures are especially appreciated. Letters are orally translated to your child. Yes! You are welcome to send gifts to your spon¬sored child. The postal system in Thailand is rather slow. Packages should be sent to: Living Word Ministries, PO Box 161, Chiangmai 50000, Thailand. Another option is to send a donation designated as Gift to your sponsored child.

What an excuse for a holiday! Many of the children’s sponsors have come to visit. This is fine with us. Simply let us know your travel plans. You should also check with us first to enquire what compound your sponsored child lives at. We have three compounds, two of which are a 3-4 hour drive from Chiangmai.

Our Children’s Homes are registered and in excellent standing with the Social Welfare Department of Thailand. Thai law prohibits that sponsors communicate directly with children via social media. This is for the protection of the child.

We will communicate with you via email about what is happening at LWMI. You will also receive an annual updated pic¬ture. You will be able to watch your sponsored child grow up and see their progress as they graduate through the school system.

Most of the children that graduate the 12th grade from our program go on to some form of higher education (college, university, technical school, vocational school, etc). During their 12th grade year, our staff counsels the child to get an idea of their future goals. If appropriate, the child will receive a scholarship for higher learning. The sponsor will be notified of the option to continue their sponsorship or not.
