Our social work with children has introduced us to many families where the husband has died or deserted the family. Many times, the remaining family members suffer as the mother must work overtime to care for the needs of the family. When children are left alone and uncared for, it inevitably leads to problems.
We have taken on many projects to construct a simple house for widows and disadvantaged families. The houses are basic and can be constructed for under US$5000. Upon completion, we present the homeowner with household gifts and a stock of food. Tears of joy and sincere thankfulness are the typical response. The security of a home enables families to embrace a better tomorrow.
