Greetings from Thailand … trusting all is well your way. I always like to frame the beginning of the year with Psalm 65:11. “You crown the year with Your goodness, and Your paths drip with abundance.” Sounds like a good outlook to me.
A Breathtaking Start to 2025 … If January is a picture of what 2025 will look like…we better hang on! Cathy and I arrived back home in Thailand on January 8th ; just in time to attend our granddaughter Olivia’s 8th birthday party on the 9th . The 10th a team headed up by the Lee family arrived from Malaysia. What a blessing! I call Mr Lee my Chinese father. The Lee’s have been a part of our lives for over 25 years. Mr Lee has been a mentor to me and helped me in so many ways. He is 90 years old now. As I am writing this letter, I leave in a few hours for Chiangrai where we will conduct a leader’s seminar the last couple days of the month. Whew!!! Can’t wait to see what February brings!
Three Churches Dedicated In January … That brings us to 262 churches built and dedicated in Thailand. Eight of those locations were built in the 90’s. Our church planting program began to take off in 2001, when we dedicated 5 churches. We maintained that schedule for several years and then began to increase. We dedicated 14 new churches in 2024. Glory to God.
Two Leadership Seminars in January … Paul and Debbie Troquille are with us from LA …Louisiana that is. We had a great 4-day seminar with our staff, students and field ministers. Great leadership insights. We will wrap up January with a leader’s seminar on the 30th & 31st with Hmong leaders. They will come from Laos, Vietnam, Thailand and the USA. FYI, the Hmong people group were very instrumental in helping the US soldiers during the Vietnam war. Over 360,000 Hmong are in the USA today.
Progress At the Youth Camp … The meeting room building will be finished in February. Construction on the dining hall will begin next week. Our “Grand Opening” will be in June. We are excited about the potential of the Youth Camp Property being used to reach the youth in Thailand. Talk to you next month with some more great news…
